The National’s made some history last night. They won their first division title, the NL East, and I was there to witness it!
While they were down to Philly 2-0 the whole game, I kept checking the score for the Braves because I knew if they lost…the Nats would still win. The announcement came half way through the 9th inning, right before the Nats were up to bat. The jumbo-tron had the final score to the Braves game, and they lost! The crowd went nuts! The entire dugout started jumping up and down on each other. They introduced the next batter as, your NL East Champion Michael Morse, and he could not hide his glee. He was smiling, laughing, trying to pull it together to go up to bat. It was magical!
The whole game was insane, from the moment of trying to get through the gates, to every cheer, clapping, standing up moment through each inning. It was like nothing I have ever experienced before. I don’t know what will happen next, but I’m excited to see it all go down!
Apologies for the blurry photos – I normally hate them, but hopefully this conveys all the excitement (and jumping around!)
